The TDM system allows the practical application of Tool Lifecycle Management concepts.

An IT strategy fully aligned with the pillars of Industry 4.0 in the management of production resources, especially cutting tools.

It manages everything from definition in the planning phase, use in production, and disposal of these resources. TDM integrates software and hardware such as ERP, PLM, MES, CAM, presetters, and vending machines, ensuring communication between Planning, Engineering, and Production. TDM manages and provides tool data and graphics (2D and 3D) to CAM (programming) and CAV (simulation) systems and precisely controls the physical movement of tools on the shop floor.

The TDM system is oriented towards continuous communication and exchange of digital data between different departments and systems involved in machining.

TDM Technological Module

The Technology Module is the foundation for tool management with the TDM system. Tool data and logistics are managed at different levels: item, assembly, and tool list. TDM provides an overview of all tools used on the shop floor.

The variety of interfaces allows, for example, the TDM Technology Module to exchange data from Planning with ERP, CAD/CAM, and simulation systems, to Production with MES/FMS systems, and to the Tool Room with presetting equipment. Highlights of the Technology Module include easy management and data entry through a user-friendly interface, as well as automatic creation and selection of tool assemblies.

TDM Inventory Control Module

The TDM Inventory Control Module includes all the features needed for tool lifecycle management. It monitors inventory levels of tools and other production resources, providing information on the status and location of each tool within and outside the company (service providers).

It forms a solid foundation for tool planning, production orders, and machine utilization. TDM manages orders and toolroom routines, whether automated or manual, ensuring optimal inventory levels. It also ensures the availability of the right tool, in the right quantity, and in the right location.

Data and graph generator

The use of CAM systems makes access to tool data and graphics essential. TDM's Data and Graphics Generator module is a massive database of tool items from various manufacturers.

This module is a tool for generating and storing a complete record of tool data, including 2D graphics and 3D models. It's ideal for building a database, improving the quality of your company's tool information. It also provides highly detailed 3D models for simulations and collision monitoring.
